Hunter A. Hagood-James is a complex civil litigation attorney and the managing partner of Hagood & Hagood. After graduating from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mr. Hagood graduated from the University of Florida’s Levin College of Law. During and after law school, Mr. Hagood served as a clerk to both the Ninth Judicial Circuit’s Chief Judge and the Judge of the Ninth Circuit’s Complex Business litigation division.
After a number of years representing and advising large corporate clients at private law firms, Mr. Hagood shifted his focus to advocating for small and medium-sized Florida businesses, as well as certain high net worth and high profile individuals. His litigation expertise focuses on complex civil litigation, including actions related to breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, forced buyouts and partnership divorce, civil theft, trade secrets, restrictive covenants, defamation and deceptive and unfair trade practices.
In addition to his business litigation practice, Mr. Hagood maintains a related niche practice focused on securing justice for individuals who have been defrauded by various business and online scammers.
Outside of the practice of law, Mr. Hagood serves on the board of directors of the Orange County Bar Association YLS Division, where he contributes to and volunteers with numerous community organizations and charities. He is an Orlando native who enjoys exploring Central Florida’s growing restaurant options, quiet trips to the beach on the weekends and hanging out with his rescue dog, Jack.
